Valentine's Card Calligraphy Class
Create custom calligraphy with Lorrie Frear on February 8 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Sulfur Books — just in time for Valentine’s Day! Limited to 6 participants.
Bring a message or two with you to make a card that captures the spirit of your words. Messages can be romantic, sexy, funny, mischievous, or mysterious…anything goes! Enjoy some chocolates and sip on some wine during this fun and relaxing design experience!
Model sheets of various lettering styles will be provided for inspiration. Paper, envelopes, calligraphy markers, and colored pencils will be provided. If you would like to include some special embellishments, please bring them with you, and we can incorporate them into your design.
About Lorrie Frear: Lorrie is a Professor of Graphic Design in the School of Design in the College of Art and Design at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Lorrie has taught with and for many departments and schools within CAD during her career at RIT. In addition, she has worked with other Colleges at RIT and with other universities. In all of Lorrie’s classes, there is an emphasis on creativity, concept-generation and critical thinking strategies, individual growth, passion for letterforms, and typography. Her scholarship includes interdisciplinary learning experiences and contemporary calligraphy and hand-lettering.
