Need a personal statement or cover letter to land that job or get into school? Come learn the ins and outs of writing statements and letters that will get the attention of hiring and admissions committees.
In a fun and supportive writing environment led by Erin Francisco, this workshop will guide you through writing exercises that identify and highlight your skills and strengths, demonstrate editing techniques to help you craft powerful sentences and thoughtfully organized paragraphs, and provide tips and tricks for connecting to your reader.
Handouts, paper, and pencils/pens provided. Feel free to bring a laptop or other typing device and come ready to write!
Erin Francisco holds masters degrees in Writing and English from the California College of the Arts and the University of Rochester. She has taught academic writing courses, facilitated creative writing workshops, and tutored students in writing and reading skills at liberal arts and community colleges since 2011. She is currently a writing consultant and PhD student at the University of Rochester.
